Air Products, (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experiencedTerminal Site Supervisorfor our Conyers, GA facility.

Our facility consists of an Air Separation Plant with Dual Nitrogen Liquefiers supplying liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and argon to customers throughout the region. There is a distribution terminal and a vehicle garage on-site, maintaining our fleet of tractors and trailers. Our businesses operate and requires support on a 24/7 basis. It is supported bya Site Manager, a Production Site Supervisor, a Terminal Site Supervisor, Operations Technicians, Commercial Drivers, Vehicle Mechanics and an Administrative Assistant, producing and delivering our product to customers.

Our Terminal Site Supervisor role is a key member of our management team reporting to the Conyers Site Manager.

You will be required to gain an understanding of all facets of distribution including fleet maintenance with a specific focus on driver management and leadership skills as a front-line supervisor.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Prior customer interfacing experience/exposure would be helpful in this role.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily Safe management of driver team and garage mechanics at the site.

  • Manage driver's hours of service in accordance with company policies and Federal/State regulations.

  • Collaborate on daily schedule details from Logistics Center to ensure continuous product supply by managing daily driver availability and coordination with maintenance staff to provide equipment resources necessary.

  • Manage third party contractor support for the daily schedule in times of major logistical challenges as directed by regional management (i.e., major outages, on-site shutdowns, etc.).

  • Daily, review location driver hour availability with Logistic planners to prevent driver fatigue.

  • Daily oversight and analysis of previous days completed trips ensuring driver compliance with routing and customer supply levels meet demand requirements.

  • Work with site management team with potential employee recruitment and screening.

  • Oversight of third-party contract carrier operations and qualification including any investigation of carrier invoices for accuracy/variation in collaboration with Central Logistics.

  • Engage local Distribution employees through regular formal and informal observations such as Delivery and Yard Observations, customer site visits, driver ride-along, plant walk around, etc.

  • Manage EHS plans including development of safety talk/safety meeting material, monthly site inspections, coordination of Top 10 Customer Site improvement plans and daily walk around Good Catches.

  • Daily review of driver paperwork, data input and data flow for distribution related systems and processes.

  • Provide real time coaching support to ensure quality pass through of information to the Central Logistics.

  • You should demonstrate a positive attitude and be willing to take on new opportunities and embrace tough challenges with a sense of ownership, energy, and urgency.

  • You must be able to approach work both individually and as a member of the team.

  • Integrity is a vital part of the Air Product's culture and employees are expected to uphold ethical standards and communicate across all channels with respect and honesty.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • A High School diploma is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the distribution field.

  • Commercial driving experience is preferred but not required.

  • High degree of knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations.

  • Familiar with PM based maintenance programs.

  • Strong degree of computer literacy.

  • Excellent communication skills. Extensive communication with office staff, drivers, and customers.

  • Availability to travel 10%.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs and climb stairs and ladders.

  • A valid drivers' license and a good driving record are required.
