Medical Assistant - GYN Washington, DC Pay From: $19 per hour MUST: Experienced Medical Assistant 2 plus years of professional experience as a Medical Assistant 2 years of experience working as a medical assistant in a medical practice Experience working in GYN/ Women's Health Must have experience with EMR systems, Greenway preferred Must have experience with injections Must have strong foundation in medical terminology and anatomy Excellent customer service skills Phlebotomy experience highly preferred CMA/ RMA highly preferred High school diploma or equivalent DUTIES: Report to clinical coordinator or practice administrator Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients chart Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant Organize follow-up care and instructions for patients with abnormal test results Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patient's medical records prior to their appointment Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required Process and handle lab specimens Ensure compliance with practice policies, HIPAA, and OSHA standards Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.) All other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
