Summary

The VP, Sales Operations and Analytics employs, builds and integrates tools and market data that discover and define opportunities for Sales while providing insights into the sales pipeline and Sales' performance to plan. The role supports in-market activities of field salespeople, sales and executive management, investors, and ensures alignment with marketing, product management, operations, revenue operations and sales compensation.

Essential Functions

  • Use market and industry data to find, define and prioritize prospects and cross sell opportunity to directly enable revenue generation

  • Manage segment, product, external market and client data sets within our CRM, and align to and merge with Company data sets for reporting and analyses

  • Gather, merge and analyze data across Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Management, Finance and Revenue Operations to deliver performance measurement and insights for sales management, executives and board meetings

  • Deliver insights and actionable recommendations re client and share-of-wallet capture

  • Lead sales enablement and best practice capture and dissemination, and manage the sale operations technology stack, including salesforce.com, Pardot and Workday

  • Review compensation, productivity and benchmarks regularly and work with product/margin owners to adjust compensation plans

  • Lead development of annual sales plans and monthly reporting and analyses for performance to plan and commissions reconciliation

  • During acquisitions and strategic partnership development, analyze and map acquisition target sales team, processes and compensation model and assimilate into core operating company

  • Support product/territory/salesperson alignment

  • Develop compensation strategy and administer sales and commissions plans and payments

  • Employ enterprise data to create robust client profiles for client management and cross sell activities

  • Create, cull, cleanse and articulate opportunity/action in go-to-market lists

  • Lead a small team and collaborate across enterprise teams

  • Lead and direct the work of other employees and take responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination

Education

  • College Degree--BS/BA

  • Additional certifications/degrees relevant to the responsibilities will be favorably considered, even in lieu of the college degree, where the candidate has a track record of accomplishment enabled by the credentials

Experience

  • 10 years business experience minimum. Work history should include process-oriented analyses, using data to produce insights, compensation analyses, lead and opportunity generation for a sales team and hands-on, in-market experience with salespeople

  • Prior people management experience, direct or matrix

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strategic and executive communication skills a must

  • Must possess the ability to work closely with sales teams and sales leaders in the development of models and dashboards related to both sales plans and forecasts

  • Experience should show a working ability to develop and manage process and tools related to sales and operations productivity, as well as work intuitively and productively with salespeople to add value to their activities

  • Interaction with senior level associates including the ability to lead discussions and make recommendations, supporting recommendations with data and analysis

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage a number of key initiatives

  • Ability to manage enterprise level projects effectively from inception to completion

  • Experience managing application and database development projects

  • Experience aggregating data and producing reporting and analysis to support sales and management

  • Experience mapping processes and reducing defects, including capture of best practices

  • Ability to travel as needed to support salespeople or executives

  • Ability to drive strategic direction

Work is performed in climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon office or meeting location.
