Job Description: Project Estimator

Location: Rochester, NY, Orange, CT, Augusta, ME, or Binghamton, NY

Salary: $120,382 - $145,749 (commensurate with experience and location)

Our client is seeking a skilled Project Estimator to support the project management team by providing accurate project cost estimates during all phases of the project. The Project Estimator will collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop and refine cost estimates and schedules, while also managing cost risks and ensuring quality in all cost-related processes.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Provide project cost estimating during all phases of the projects, from initiation to project close-out.



  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for all disciplines, collaborating with project engineering teams.



  • Negotiate design modifications and construction change orders with contractors in collaboration with the project team.



  • Work with the Project Manager and Scheduler to develop and refine Integrated Master Schedules.



  • Support Project Managers by resolving issues and providing cost-related information.



  • Establish estimating cost standards and formats to ensure consistency and quality across projects.



  • Support new functions and requirements arising from Risk Analysis Workshops, including contingency and cost risk management.



  • Document all Basis of Estimates and estimate revisions, ensuring thorough record-keeping.



  • Utilize Document Control to archive current and historical estimates and supporting data.



  • Support the development, management, and maintenance of the cost database.



  • Adhere to industry Cost Engineering Standards, including best practices from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and 46R-11 standards.




Qualifications:




  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in estimating the design and construction of electric transmission (38kV and above) and distribution (15kV / 34.5kV) projects.



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.



  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.



  • Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) certification required.
