Job Description: Automation & Integration Engineer (Substation Automation)
Location: Rochester, NY, Augusta, ME, or Binghamton, NY
Salary: $74,160 - $105,060 Our client is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Automation & Integration Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will work on various projects related to substation automation, SCADA systems, and integration of utility client standards. This role involves supporting the development of SCADA maps, RTUs, and testing communications within SCADA/EMS systems. Key Responsibilities:
Develop SCADA maps and RTUs in compliance with utility client standards.
Support testing and communications in SCADA/EMS systems.
Apply knowledge of electronic and automation functions, including digital protection.
Utilize expertise in IEC 61850 and communication protocols, especially DNP.
Work with SCADA systems, manufacturers, and equipment.
Support communications infrastructure, including digital radio and fiber optics.
Leverage experience with electrical substations, substation equipment, and power grids.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree from a recognized institution.
P.E. license preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in automation, digital, relay, or utility engineering.
Knowledge of codes and standards such as IEEE and ANSI, as well as OH&S Regulations, NERC, and FERC regulations.
