Job Description: Expediter (Materials Specialist)

Location: Rochester, NY, Orange, CT, Augusta, ME, or Binghamton, NY

Salary: $47,654 - $74,011 (commensurate with experience and location)

Our client is seeking a skilled Expediter (Materials Specialist) to support project teams by sourcing materials, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites. This role involves managing the materials and equipment manufacturing process, tracking delivery schedules, and ensuring quality control throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Support Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Commission Manager in sourcing materials, issuing purchase orders, tracking, and expediting delivery to storage areas and project sites.



  • Verify Bill of Materials to ensure accuracy.



  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for materials and equipment.



  • Analyze commodity lead times and ensure orders are acknowledged promptly.



  • Expedite delivery of materials and equipment to meet project schedules.



  • Manage materials, ensuring proper quality control is maintained.



  • Communicate with Project Managers regarding material schedules and any potential delays.



  • Handle vendor damage claims and ensure timely resolution.




Qualifications:




  • Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).



  • 5+ years of experience in Materials Management positions.



  • Technical degree preferred.



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.



  • SAP Super User experience required.



  • Experience in Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro, or OSG is preferred.
