SHIFT: Day (United States of America)A Brief Overview Assume responsibility for an on-going, innovative research project as a Postdoctoral Fellow at CHOP. Our postdoc experience will broaden your skillset, scientific background, and research capabilities. CHOP's Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion About the Laboratory Dr. Yi Xing's lab at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) is recruiting multiple postdoctoral fellows in the areas of transcriptome bioinformatics and long-read RNA sequencing. Our highly productive lab has developed cutting-edge sequencing technologies and widely used computational tools to study transcriptome complexity and mRNA isoform variation (https://xinglab.org/publications/). A major active interest of the lab is to develop new long-read based sequencing methods (e.g. Oxford Nanopore) and computational tools for mammalian transcriptome analysis in bulk tissues and single cells. We also apply these technologies to study important biomedical problems in the fields of human genetics, developmental biology, neuroscience, and cancer immunology. Successful candidates should have a strong publication record in computational biology and transcriptome bioinformatics. Prior experience with short-read or long-read RNA-seq technologies and/or their applications to biomedical research is a significant plus. Responsibilities
