Compensation: $95,000-$105,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Regular, Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Manhattan, KS (onsite) - Hybrid and remote options are not available for this position.

Performance Management/Training & Development

  • Oversee the performance management program, ensuring alignment with our culture and long-term needs
  • Identify skills training and professional development opportunities that align with organizational needs. Consult and/or lead the creation and delivery of training and development programs

Talent Acquisition and Compensation

  • Oversee the talent acquisition program to cultivate and attract high quality candidates with a focus on balancing strategy, efficiency, and the cultural needs of the organization
  • Partner with stakeholders on compensation strategy and analysis. Ensure compensation strategies are executed in talent acquisition and talent management

Human Resource Operations

  • Oversee the management of employee benefit programs, identifying market trends to ensure plans remain competitive and supportive of employee needs while balancing cost to the organization
  • Ensure human resources data, software, tools, and budget are optimized and meet organizational and departmental needs
  • Oversee the maintenance of data in the HRIS support compliance efforts including biweekly payroll audits, retirement plan administration, annual organizational audit, employment law compliance, etc.
  • Support, create and implement policies, procedures and programs that support the evolution and growth of the organization

Leadership

  • Advise and collaborate with leadership and managers across the organization for purposes of performance improvement plans and other disciplinary actions
  • Manage staff, including recruitment, retention, performance management, coaching, and development. Utilize KSUF resources to facilitate professional development for the team and grow the talent pipeline
Requirements
  • 8+ years professional experience as a human resources generalist and primary responsibility for at least two specialty areas (i.e. talent acquisition, training and development, HR operations, etc.)
  • Prior leadership experience managing individual contributors, with the ability to inspire, coach, and give/receive constructive feedback with both direct reports and organizational leaders
  • Strong command of HR functions including workforce planning, metrics, HRIS reporting, compliance with federal and state employment laws, culture and engagement strategies, and employer branding
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret verbal and nonverbal cues, present effectively, and navigate sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to lead and coach managers through sensitive employee relations matters.
  • Demonstrated strength in project management, time management, presentation skills, and problem-solving, with a results-driven mindset and the ability to prioritize and deliver on complex initiatives

  • HR certifications (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.)
  • Ability to provide exceptional service, drive results, and thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Passion and enthusiasm for employee engagement, culture development, and the value of talent management in a successful organization
  • Experience in or knowledge of higher education fundraising
