Technical Designer(s) (full-time, multiple openings) needed in Newport Beach, CA to consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of structures, and plan layouts of architectural projects. Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, and materials used. Perform predesign services, such as feasibility or environmental impact studies. Collaborate and communicate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors and regulatory agencies to resolve complex technical and design issues to meet overall project objectives, and ensure builder compliance with design specifications, and advise on design corrections. Establish design standards, space planning, and programming based on clients' functional and spatial requirements while meeting conceptual design goals. Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design (graphic presentations, physical models, 2D/3D renderings), design development, construction documents and production for core and shell architecture projects.

Must have a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus two (2) years of design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with all of the following:

1) BIM software, parametric design software, 2D/3D software, Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Pollination, Kangaroo, and Lunchbox, Illustrator, SketchUp, InDesign, 3ds MAX, Bluebeam Revu, V-Ray, Enscape, Climate Studio, Tally, Lumion, Twin Motion, Blender, TestFit, CoveTool, Corel Draw, and Eddy 3D;

2) Design process, including experience in conceptual designs, graphic presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration;

3) Experience with the following project types: technology, critical facilities, sports, life science, education, senior living, transportation-oriented, and retail;

4) Developing and optioneering on multi building campuses, core and shell, including curtain wall system, parking, elevator banks, internal/exterior staircases, core, bathrooms and terraces; detailing with Type I and II construction with corresponding life-safety requirements;

5) Deliver concept and schematic design package, including site analysis, design concept, design narrative, sustainability simulation tests, photo-realistic renderings, facade development (product and material specification), for exterior envelope for Type I and Type II construction;

6) Developing Life Cycle Analysis and carbon footprint reduction strategies for exterior and interior materials; performing environmental analysis to understand the daylighting and lighting required for the complex multi building projects; examples of development materials for EHD (Environmental Health Declaration) analysis for project material specifications;

7) Participate in client presentations for conceptual planning and design; AND

8) Operating and providing maintenance for calibrating a Raise 3D Pro3 Plus Printer.

In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship). Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) must include experience with all of the following:

All experience may be acquired concurrently. Incidental telecommuting may apply.

The base salary range is $88,712.00 to $102,500.00, commensurate with relevant experience. Standard benefits will be offered, and employees will be eligible for bonuses.
