Responsibilities: Under the direction of the SVP of Retail Sales and Service, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the sales, service, and operations of a defined group of branches and leading and coaching the team to achieve goals. He/she is accountable for the recruitment and development of Branch Managers and their staff to attain goals for consumer and small business products and services, fee revenue, cross-sales, household growth, customer satisfaction and retention, and profitability. He/she is responsible for team development, community outreach throughout the region, profitable growth, and operational integrity of all offices. Lastly, he/she creates exceptional partnerships across the organization to engage the team in relationship building activities to ensure our culture, and service to each other, is consistent with our Essentials of Excellence.

1. Culture/Leadership

  • Successfully manages all aspects of sales, service, operations, and risk of a defined group of branch offices in alignment with the bank's strategic direction and profitability targets.
  • Ensures that the branch staff is engaged, feels supported and that the bank's culture is demonstrated by their words and actions to clients and each other.
  • Develops strong, open relationships with all the Retail staff to ensure open, two-way communication.
  • Responsible for performance management of assigned branches, which includes performance reviews, recommendations for promotions and salary adjustments, corrective plans, and terminations.
  • Mentor, coach and lead branch managers and the branch leadership team to optimize service delivery, growth of profitable relationships and branch operations.
  • Develop position standards, work plans, and recommend adjustments when necessary, according to type and amount of office volume.
  • Establish and maintain an organization structure and staffing to effectively accomplish goals and objectives; as well as recruit, employ, train, and supervise staff.
  • Develop and execute a focused business plan to grow new relationships, as well as expand existing and prospective client relationships.
  • Responsible for meeting loan, deposit, and asset quality and portfolio management goals for the region.

2. Retail Sales and Service Execution

  • Communicates and implements sales-and-service strategies and converts strategies into tactical, implemented daily actions.
  • Provide consistent recognition across the region to inspire and engage branch teams.
  • Develop and implement sales campaigns/contests.
  • Partner with Talent Development to develop programs to enhance the skills of team members.
  • Ensure the retail team proactively matches bank products and services to customer needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent client service skills and ensure the same by the Retail banking teams.
  • Manage regular sales marketing meetings including facilitating sales calls, and referral activity, managing pipeline and holding branch teams accountable for marketing activities.Track client information and provide continuous forecast and pipeline accuracy through diligent CRM upkeep.

3. Market Planning and Involvement

  • Work with Branch Managers, Line of Business partners and Market President to develop business plans tailored to the market strategies and objectives.
  • Proactively support referrals to other business lines that result in additional revenue to the bank.
  • Stay abreast of market disruption opportunities, as well as industry trends in banking and sales strategies. Provide recommendations as a result of these insights to SVP and Senior Leadership.
  • Develop and present new revenue or cost savings initiatives to executive team for consideration.
  • Develop/expand centers of influence (COI) relationships (local chambers and business networking groups) to increase Centier's awareness and visibility within the business community.
  • Participate in community-oriented and professional organizations to support Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) objective.
  • Promote Centier through active engagement on social media, and other online community outreach channels.
  • Regularly participate and achieve highly visible leadership positions in key community organizations.
  • Operate within the Region's annual Centier Gives philanthropic budget parameters; monitor actual performance against budget and participate in setting annual goals, leveraging these activities to ensure a return on this investment.

4. Branch Operations

  • Demonstrate operational soundness to minimize risk exposure or loss and maintain quality production. Implement Retail operating procedures and protocols.
  • Work with other departments to ensure the quality of work coming from the branches meets compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies and productivity.
  • Partner with the Security Officer to assure security and safety for the branches.
  • Follow deposit account opening procedures and internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as appropriate for the position.
  • Complete periodic compliance training as required for the position
  • Stay abreast of fraud issues and initiate appropriate training to safeguard customer and organizational assets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer knowledge in a Windows environment. Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work well with others and in a team environment.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Read and process written and numerical information.
  • Ability to work through problems by listening, thinking through all issues, and responding appropriately.
  • Consultative skills to identify a client's financial needs.
  • Proofread and verify written materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field, but Graduate Banking school or Master's Degree encouraged.
  • 10+ years related leadership experience in Retail bank management and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and execute strategies across the organization and geographical locations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bank consumer compliance regulations
  • Ability to develop, foster and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people within the organization as well as with external customers and vendors
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Must be able to travel 25-50% to branch locations and to future acquisition locations
  • Overall Retail banking knowledge expected.
