Who we are looking for:

We are currently seeking a Deputy Project Manager for a full-time position remotely, supporting the Department of Labor (DoL).

We are an organization that is committed to your growth and success in the IT software development industry and looking for a Deputy Project Manager who will be supporting Enterprise Software Systems for a federal client, lead a team of technical experts in an agile environment to support current systems and functionality for a suite of Appian applications.



What your day-to-day will look like / Duties:

  • Interact with clients and peer contractors to deliver products and enhancements.
  • Assemble and coordinate the internal and external teams to gain consensus on deliverables from each team.
  • Work with the Technical Project Manager and collaboratively adapt existing and develop new project plans, processes, and communication standards for the operations teams
  • Manages contract resources across all phases of planning, requirements elicitation, development, testing and deployment to achieve successful performance of all project tasks.
  • Provides oversight and direction to the technical team, establishes schedules, and meets deadlines.
  • Responsible for contract deliverables and reporting.



What we would like to see on your resume/ Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience managing major IT development and O&M projects utilizing Salesforce, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience in coordinating with Senior Executive Management and key senior staff members.
  • Experience managing a technical and programmatic personnel team, managing program costs and resources.
  • Ability to develop and deliver progress/status reports, proposals, requirements -documentation, and presentations.
  • Experience using process improvement methodologies and disciplines to lead and manage process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience providing briefings to Senior Management



What specifically does this role require:
Education: Bachelor's Degree ; Active Project Management Professional certification (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or comparable).

Salary Range: There are various factors that are considered in determining finalpayfor a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, education, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $120,000- $140,000

Location: Horizon is headquartered in the heart of Tyson's Corner, VA. Occasional travel may be required. Willing to move or local to the DMV Area.
