This role involves ensuring the organization has the right supplies, equipment, and services to drive its mission forward. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials through the production lifecycle, collaborating with team members to review product specifications and costs, and building strong relationships with suppliers. This is a hybrid role based in Gaithersburg, MD, requiring 2-3 days in the office. Responsibilities
Procurement and Supply Management: Procurement and Supply Management involves purchasing materials, scientific equipment, services, and other supplies using good judgment in selection and technique. It also includes processing requisitions, and other requirements, obtaining quotes, examining bids, and making awards to ensure the organization has the necessary resources.
- Supplier Relations and Contract Management: This person will lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, conduct supplier selection, engage in strategic negotiations, and independently handle contract redlining. They will draft, review, and finalize procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Inventory Management: Manage and monitor procurement activities to ensure optimal inventory level to meet demand.Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and manage stock replenishment to avoid shortages and excesses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years' experience or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- In-depth understanding of bio-manufacturing procurement operations (preferred).
- Proven ability to efficiently manage procurement processes to ensure timely delivery, high operational satisfaction, high-quality products, and cost reduction (preferred).
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to understand, gather, and communicate procurement project timelines and emerging priorities (preferred).
- Experience liaising with internal teams such as Quality and Compliance, Product Development, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance (preferred).
- Expertise in leading contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions (preferred).
- Ability to conduct supplier selection and non-transactional decisive negotiation, perform contract redlining independently (preferred).
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate vendor reliability and manage supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and suppliers.
- Ability to address quality-related issues and manufacturing delays with suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills to monitor and regulate purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
- Ability to monitor existing purchase orders and communicate order status, delivery dates, and changes to all invested parties.
Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program. We Invest in You
