Overview
The Navy is updating legacy software and systems to move towards modern tools and practices. This DevOps role will be involved in the installation, integration, and testing of prototype Navy tactical software and supporting Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery of mature software. The individual will work with a small team based out of Manassas, VA, but will also be responsible for collaborating with a larger community of organizations and government representatives from across the country. The individual will work with limited supervision to develop and implement cybersecurity and data management solutions for inclusion in future tactical systems. This role requires an imaginative thinker and problem solver with demonstrated interest in all aspects of DevOps infrastructure. This position is located in Manassas, VA. This position is a hybrid position with remote work options and flexible schedules. What will you do? The DevOps Engineer will help prototype and develop platform-as-a-service features for data management and cybersecurity for the next generation tactical system being deployed to the US Navy submarine fleet. The selected candidate will work with small teams on prototyping efforts that span a broad spectrum of computer technologies, including server, VM and container management, cybersecurity, data management, and networks. Additional work will include maintaining unclassified and classified on-premise cloud infrastructure, and developing CI/CD pipelines to automate the delivery, installation, integration, and testing of Navy tactical software. Additional work will include prototyping efforts that span a broad spectrum of computer technologies, including server, VM and container management, cybersecurity, data management, and networks.
