In the role of Senior IT Systems Administrator you will be responsible for providing all aspects of IT systems administration and support including, but not limited to problem-solving, root-cause analysis, systems configuration, architecture development, and implementation. This is a multifaceted and vital position supporting the Help Desk, Desktop, and Operations teams to ensure IT products and services are delivered effectively and efficiently. The technical environment is complex including Windows and Linux servers, Windows and Mac computers, and multiple laboratory computer systems. The service level requirements are high with a growing 24x7x365 lab operation and a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have an owner's mindset, and be able to work independently and as part of a team on projects and issues, in support of IT's vision and goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide escalated support to end users around the USA and globally.
  • Be a subject matter expert in multiple technology areas, including Windows, Active Directory, Intune, etc.
  • Partner with other IT Teams in support of our systems and applications.
  • Be a champion for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and train IT personnel on infrastructure and administration best practices when needed.
  • Take ownership of problems to find root causes, provide solutions and ensure issues don't reappear.
  • Documentation of new system implementations and Knowledgebase articles.
  • Collaborate with other departments and groups on new projects.
  • Keep up to date on new IT technologies and tools and participate in evaluations of new software and systems.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives providing input into IT architecture development, policy and procedure creation, and service level development.
  • Participate in decisions regarding downtime impact on users through accurate communication, planning of scheduled downtime, and quick problem resolution for unscheduled downtime.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of troubleshooting Windows and Mac desktop issues
  • 5+ years of experience with Windows Server, Active Directory (AD), and Group Policy.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure AD, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager, Jamf, and other MDM.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure VDI setups
  • Experience with 3rd-party-application patching systems.
  • Experience with Azure AD SSO/SAML and user provisioning in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft/Office 365 administration.
  • Experience with Windows 10 and macOS systems in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Azure Virtual Desktop, Druva, RingCentral, Crowdstrike
  • Experience working in Cloud- or SaaS-based environments.
  • Experience in a biotech environment with an understanding of laboratory operations.
  • Strong customer service skills with an ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work after-hours and weekends as needed
