Clinical Nurse Educator Cardiovasular

Full Time, First Shfit

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) plays a pivotal role in promoting patient safety and high-quality care by ensuring that clinicians are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. This position involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, providing nursing orientation and continuing education, and acting as a key resource for clinical practice. The CNE is dedicated to advancing nursing knowledge and ensuring patient care standards are met through evidence-based practice and education.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with department directors, staff, and educators to identify unit-specific educational needs.

  • Coordinate with human resources and other educators to facilitate orientation programs.

  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to preceptors, new employees, and experienced staff.

  • Assess educational needs using both formal and informal methods to ensure effective staff development.

  • Teach educational programs using adult learning principles, presentation skills, and quality materials. (e.g., American Heart Association, Emergency Nurses Association)

  • Evaluate learning program outcomes and maintain records for accreditation and continuing education.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Licensure Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • A minimum of three years of acute care experience within the last five years.

  • Active RN licensure in Kentucky.

  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC, as required by department.

  • Certification as Professional Development Specialist (PDS) preferred.
