Job Description

Now Hiring: Security Guard - Shift Supervisor in Austin (Metropolis Dr.)
Pay: $25/hour
Location: Austin, TX - near Metropolis Drive
Schedule: Full-time

Requirements:

    Must be 21 years or older
  • Minimum 1 year of security experience and security supervisor experience
  • Ability to stay alert and focused during shifts
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • Must have open availability!

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Operations Officer. The Security Operations Center is a sophisticated command center focused on customer service and site monitoring. Security Operations Officer is responsible for providing customer service via telephone interactions with customers and tenants as well as supporting security through radio communications and monitoring of video surveillance systems. This position requires excellent computer skills, the ability to master at least five computer applications, and provide outstanding customer service for each customer interaction. Additional responsibilities of the Security Center Officer position include, but are not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone and radio calls
  • Communicate effectively with on-site security personnel to properly resolve incidents
  • Provide pre-arrival emergency or medical instructions to local law enforcement or fire personnel
  • Monitor fire/life/safety alarms to determine the necessary level of response
  • Escalate and coordinate incidents to the site supervisor
  • Maintain the confidentiality of policy and procedure documentation, emergency response and notification information, and administrative and database materials
  • Become proficient with several computer applications to properly log data, verify access, create customer profiles, and issue badges
  • Become conversant with emergency procedures and evacuation procedures for data center
  • Identify suspicious criminal activity and ensure an effective response from local law enforcement, retail center personnel, and/or corporate management
  • Operate and monitor internal and external surveillance cameras and state of the art surveillance programs for data center
  • Ensure all components of the Security Operations Center surveillance equipment are operating according to expected standards and protocols
  • Maintain an effective video management system in accordance with expected standards and protocols. Effectively maneuver multiple surveillance cameras to obtain a better understanding of a situation, document events and assist with an investigation regarding suspicious activity, property damage, acts of violence, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent or minimum of five (5) years of work experience
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 60 days of assignment (training is provided on-site)
  • Post hire, must complete required monthly training and successfully pass the new hire training program
  • No prior work history required
  • Possess aptitude to learn and the willingness to progress
  • Proficient in computers and productivity software
  • Ability to monitor surveillance and alarm response
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills; customer-service oriented
  • Capacity to multi-task, to work under pressure, and to think through a problem before making a decision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Customer service experience
  • Prior dispatch or protective service experience
