Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full Time Application Developer to work on-site from our City Center building located in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

Analyzes, designs, develops, and documents solutions that create new user experiences for our members and automate business processes for our internal staff. Works collaboratively within the data science team and individually on solo software development efforts.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:



  • Utilizes Test Driven Development (TDD) for new and existing applications or programmed solutions.
  • Leads integration testing efforts for solutions.
  • Develops and executes documented test cases to ensure that applications and technical environments meet requirements.
  • Decomposes documented designs into technical specifications. Translates use cases into functional applications that deliver the expected user experience.
  • Constructs user interface applications and back-end databases using programming and scripting languages.
  • Evaluates code compliance with style guides and coding standards to ensure consistency in development practices across all programming languages used by the data science team.
  • Aligns technical documentation with the produced application. Maintains the code repository for the data science team.
  • Develops and tests bug fixes and other enhancements for applications in production.
  • Creates full-stack solutions, working on front-end and back-end components using C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Develops and integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions to enhance automation and user experience.
  • Assists in setting up and configuring Azure environments for application deployment.
  • Supports business units with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).


Qualifications:



  • A four-year degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college or university is required, with completed C# and Java coursework.
  • 2 years of related experience required, or a master's degree in computer science.
  • Familiarity with adapting various APIs for custom applications preferred.
  • Experience with integrating AI solutions into development efforts desired.
