As the Senior Manager, Community & Social Impact you will lead our strategic philanthropy efforts, aligning them with American Family Insurance's mission, values, and long-term goals to create lasting change in the communities we serve.
You will report to the AVP, Community & Social Impact.

Position Compensation Range:

$97,000.00 - $164,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities


  • You will develop and implement strategic philanthropy plans that align with our mission, values, and long-term objectives.
  • Use data and evidence to inform decision-making, measure the impact of philanthropic investments, and ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Develop partnerships with nonprofits, community organizations, and internal stakeholders to amplify the impact of our work.
  • Move beyond traditional charitable donations towards more sustained and impactful investments.
  • Communicate the impact and outcomes of philanthropic initiatives to internal and external audiences at all levels.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements


  • Experience In guiding teams towards organizational goals and values, with a commitment to people development and mentorship.
  • Experience in providing customer-driven solutions and strategic direction for community engagement programs.
  • Skilled in building corporate relationships with community and non-profit organizations, and engaging with for-profit entities.
  • Expertise in strategic philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, impact measurement, and evaluation methods.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication skills, and ability to act with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, capable of generating innovative solutions and assessing market opportunities.
  • Adept at keeping up with trends and developments in the field.
  • Systems thinker, understanding the interdependence of social, environmental, and internal factors.
  • Challenge assumptions, question claims, and test hypotheses to identify and address biases, gaps, and inconsistencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate community investments, using data and feedback to improve performance and impact.

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per moth out of our Madison, WI (53783) office.
