The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. Position Summary |
The
VTH Purchasing Manager is responsible for oversight of the day to day operations of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital warehouse, materials purchasing, vendor management, pricing negotiations, pharmaceutical ordering/receiving and delivery compliance, in addition to equipment purchasing and negotiations. In addition, this position supervises daily activities of warehouse staff and creates billing codes for VetView. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Intermediate skill in using multiple windows-based software applications
- Advanced knowledge of VetView, UGAmart, mail distribution methods, and P-Card requirements
- Competency in devising inventory control measures within a 24/7 hospital
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments
