Summary / Description:

As a Senior Strategic Consultant at Worley, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's strategic direction. You will work across business lines, sectors, and functions to develop and execute impactful corporate and business strategies. Operating as part of a small, high-performing internal consulting team, you will be responsible for analyzing data, generating proprietary insights, crafting strategic recommendations, and driving change across the organization. This role requires a combination of analytical excellence, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.



Purpose:

To contribute to the development and execution of Worley's long-term corporate and business strategies through data-driven insights, market intelligence, and internal consulting projects that support senior leadership decision-making and enterprise-wide value creation. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to drive change and execution of strategy. You will also need to conduct analyses and drive projects with minimal supervision.


Responsibilities:

Market Analysis & Insight



  • Deliver market analyses including growth trends, supply/demand dynamics, cost curves, and financial modeling.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, customer and competitor dynamics, economic shifts, and regulatory issues.
  • Translate complex market information into actionable insights for senior leaders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of designated sectors and markets.
  • Support strategy-related external communications and ensure market intelligence is continuously refreshed.


Strategy Development



  • Support strategic planning through "Where to Play," "How to Win," and "How to Play" frameworks.
  • Integrate market and competitive intelligence into strategic planning.
  • Collaborate across functions (Operations, Sales, Sectors) to ensure strategy alignment and execution.
  • Enhance internal strategic capabilities through tools, methodologies, and knowledge sharing.


Internal Strategy Consulting Projects



  • Lead and support projects including portfolio reviews, market landscaping, competitive assessments, commercial and pricing strategies, and digital transformation.
  • Frame and analyze strategic problems and develop actionable solutions.
  • Prepare key deliverables for executive-level strategy sessions, corporate reporting, and board presentations.
  • Execute CEO and Board-mandated strategic initiatives.


Team Collaboration & Innovation



  • Contribute to a collaborative, data-driven, and agile working environment.
  • Champion innovation, new tools, and technologies, including GenAI.
  • Foster a learning culture by promoting curiosity, continuous improvement, and digital enablement.

    What You Will Bring

    Technical / Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



    • Proven ability to conduct in-depth analyses and extract actionable strategic insights.
    • Strong command of strategy methodologies such as market sizing, cost curve modeling, competitive analysis, and portfolio evaluation.
    • Expertise in data sourcing, financial modeling, valuation techniques, and econometric forecasting.
    • High proficiency in synthesizing information, drawing patterns, and crafting compelling storylines. Developing engaging and impactful PowerPoint presentations for C-suite audiences.
    • Experience using industry research tools (e.g., Rystad, Bloomberg, CapitalIQ).
    • Skilled in stakeholder communication, with the ability to present to senior executives.
    • Deep understanding of energy, chemicals, and resources sectors preferred.
    • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and managing multiple priorities.


    Education-Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

    Required:



    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in strategic analysis, internal strategy, or management consulting.



    Preferred:



    • MBA or relevant postgraduate degree.
    • Experience in global strategy or internal consulting teams within large, matrixed organizations.



    Other Requirements:

    • Flexibility to collaborate across time zones in a global organization.
    • Some overtime may be necessary to meet critical deadlines.
    • Occasional travel may be required.
