Key Responsibilities
This position is located in Waterbury Vermont, and requires you to be in office for 2 to 3 days per week during your initial training period. After the initial training is completed, a hybrid schedule is possible working both remotely as well as in office, as needed. Starting salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. A fingerprint-supported background check may be required based on the assigned job duties and location. Who May Apply

This is the third level of five in the Systems Developer series. The position is primarily responsible for analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of new or existing software applications within a State of Vermont organization, professional programming, data base administration, and systems analysis work for a department or agency of Vermont State Government. Class incumbents are technical experts in their field. This level is different from the Systems Developer II position in that it requires a greater level of experience and ability to work independently, adds responsibilities for researching and improving the overall software development process, and may also act as a technical team lead. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative or professional supervisor. Environmental Factors
Work is performed in a standard office setting and there is considerable interaction with users and members of project teams requiring some tact and diplomacy to balance competing views. Work outside of regular work schedule can be anticipated. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration. OR Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration. OR Six (6) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration. Preferred Qualifications
