Summary:
Schedule: 11 AM - 7:30 PM every Saturday & Sunday The Transporter is responsible for the safe and timely movement of patients, specimens, equipment, supplies, and linen throughout the hospital. This role also includes the collection of biohazard waste, sharps containers, and soiled linen. The Transporter supports daily hospital operations and plays a vital role in ensuring efficient care delivery. Essential Functions: Receive assignments from the coordinator, which may include: Patient transport Laboratory specimen delivery Linen and supply distribution Morgue transport Biohazard waste and sharps container collection and replacement Complete each assignment promptly and notify dispatch upon completion to receive the next task. Perform quarterly cleaning of transport equipment to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards. Attend monthly department meetings to stay updated on procedures and expectations. Support additional tasks and duties as needed to assist in hospital operations. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards. - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English: oral, written and typed. - Ability to converse with patients and staff in a friendly and courteous manner. - Must be able to follow instructions, printed or verbal.
