Description

The Access Intake Specialist is part of a clinically focused centralized intake department for all JCFS Chicago programs and services. Successful Intake Specialists are adept at screening, triaging, assessing, and connecting clients to appropriate internal and external services. Candidates must be comfortable learning and using various technology platforms. Candidates need to be competent in identifying emergent and urgent issues to triage prospective clients in crisis situations. At this time, this is a hybrid position that will be working in the office and remote (from home) on various days.

RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ABILITIES:



  • Screen, triage, and document new and returning client inquiries, as well as internal referrals from agency staff. May also complete non-clinical intakes for JCFS programs and services.
  • Schedule and facilitate brief assessments with clients via phone and connect clients with internal and external resources.
  • Assess for immediate risk and safety concerns on phone calls, voicemails, and emails to triage calls accordingly.
  • Responsible for following agency safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist clients and Access Team by monitoring and tracking program information, waitlists, and community resources.
  • Gather personal, financial, health, and insurance data as appropriate during intake calls, advising clients of agency processes, expectations and client responsibilities.
  • Accurately document intake information in accordance with documentation standards.
  • Uphold policies and procedures as stated in agency and Access Team manuals and professional standards.
  • Understand and represent the programs and services of JCFS Chicago in a positive and accurate manner.
  • Comfortably and effectively utilize technology. Learn and adapt to new tech
    platforms.
  • Provide support to the Administrative Assistant as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND SKILLS:



  • BSW in Social Work or BA in a related mental health field or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 year's experience screening, triaging, assessing, and connecting clients to appropriate services.
  • Adaptable in a multi-tasking environment. Able to prioritize, work independently, and take initiative.
  • Ability to utilize technology and to learn/adapt to new tech platforms including Microsoft Office and Teams, electronic medical records and other cloud-based information sharing and collaboration platforms.
  • Demonstrated personal attributes that include being self-motivated, team oriented, professional, organized, timely, responsible, and flexible.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other local JCFS locations.
  • Ability to occasionally accommodate a client with an early morning or early evening intake appointment.

  • Compensation: The minimum starting salary for this position is $45,300.00 annually (final offer will be based on experience).
