Job Description:

  • What is the primary mission of this role? Offload purchasing of wire, optical, mech labels, mech COTS, and GSE from three Buyers on the team.
  • There has been an extensive surge for TRex purchasing combined with additional processes since the SAP transition, multiple members of the team are at capacity.
  • Bringing on another Buyer will help offload three Buyers, allowing them to have more bandwidth to manage their OTD, convert PRs to POs quicker, manage lead time updates and budgetary quote requests, etc.
  • They will also have more bandwidth to work and get ahead of supplier setup and maintenance, work on increasing our supplier base, and research possible LTAs.
  • This buyer will also be trained on purchasing EEE components and be backup for the main buyer which we do not have right now.
  • Reducing workload for these Buyers will also help prevent burnout from the amount of work they have on their plates.



Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate the purchasing activities in procuring materials and services.
  • Complete purchase order packages to meet company and government requirements.
  • Negotiate Terms and Conditions, NDAs with vendors and work with legal on proposed changes.
  • Support negotiations with suppliers for assigned commodities to achieve the best price, quality, and schedule.
  • Analyze and interpret detailed information; make sound and accurate judgment based on this information and previous knowledge.
  • Maintains liaison with suppliers and internal organizations to prevent program delays.
  • Set and maintain accurate part lead times in the system and hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations.
  • Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliance to quality standards.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Production, Planning, and Accounting to met business needs.
  • Provide purchasing and expediting support to the company for critical material shortage.
  • Review open orders for critical parts on a regular basis to avoid last minute expedite.
  • Manage supplier setup and recertification process.


Required Skills:

  • Excellent MS Excel skills, must have experience in Excel creating tables, formulas, and organizing data into a presentable format.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, self-motivated, and be able to drive a process from start to finish.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical, verbal, organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities, and exceptional informational analysis.
  • Excellent scheduling and time management skills.
  • Exhibits a high level to attention to detail.
  • Skilled in coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.


Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance SAP/PRISM experience preferred
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry is preferred but not required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
