Overview: The Technical scrum master will be working closely with Senior manager to manage day-to-day activities of support work with various clients and maintain Kanban structure to manage resource availability and prioritizing resources work load and deliverables. Ability to run meetings with internal teams and clients. Provide weekly and monthly status reports on resource utilization. Tracking project progress and providing timely feedback to the team and stakeholders. The qualified candidate should reside in the United States.

The Role: Individual Contributor Client Facing Role

Role and Responsibilities:

* Facilitate daily standups (or the daily scrum) as needed

* Help the team from over-committing and scope creep. Aid in estimation and sub task creation.

* Participating in meetings and capturing feedback

* Note areas for improvement and action items for future sprints

* Work as the administrator of the Kanban Board. Ensure that tasks are up to date.

* Meet individually with team members and stakeholders as needed. Iron out team disagreements about process and work styles. Many scrum practitioners oppose 1on1, believing these communications should happen during standups. However, new teams often prefer to have these regular face-to-face interactions with specific team members. The scrum master may decide that these individual interactions are crucial for team development and getting to know one another.

* Scrum masters should consult with team members and internal stakeholders on how best to work with the scrum team.

* Regular analysis of burndown charts and other portfolio planning tools to understand what gets built and at what cadence.

* The scrum master aids the team by eliminating external blockers and managing internal roadblocks through process or workflow improvements.

* Knowledge of Client SOW and Contracts to manage work on Fix fee and Time and Material basis.

* Manage project financials and managing ESA and project invoices and reconciliation with finance team.

* Ability to understand client requirements and understand team challenges in implementing the projects and effectively document and communicate with clients.

* Ability to understand business requirements related Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Required Experience:

* Two+ years related experience in Agile Scrum project management

* Certification in Scrum Certification or PMI APM.

* Understanding of SDLC, Agile and scrum best practices.

Business/Technical Competencies:

* Knowledge of healthcare domain in Medicare and Medicaid is plus but not required.

* Understanding of key concepts and best practices related to product implementation and integration.

Behavioral Competencies:

* Excellent written, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate and communicate well to various levels of an organization, both internally and externally. Works well and is creative as an individual contributor but also understands how to balance needs across a team of peers and products.

* Takes the initiative to own, drive and define product strategy.

* Extremely well organized, ability to prioritize and ability to negotiate and compromise on less critical factors / requirements.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.

Desired Experience:

* Project management and leadership skills are preferred

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applicants will be accepted till 5/16/25

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $65K-$75K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
