Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee clerical operations, train new staff, and assign and explain work tasks. You will review and support work to ensure compliance with policies and standards. Your responsibilities will include managing the warrant, release, and postage logs, assessing postage requirements. You will assist with inventory management for office supplies and equipment, placing orders, and coordinating necessary service calls. Additionally, you will serve as a timekeeper, entering leave and overtime into the Commonwealth's time and attendance system and assisting with issues. This position requires making independent decisions regarding procedural compliance, evaluating the appropriateness of information to process, and determining appropriate actions to take.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • You must obtain Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification within three months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this position.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
