Overview:

The Laboratory Protection Division (LPD) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Performance Management Analyst. This position involves coordinating and implementing applicable U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) orders, guides, and technical standards to ensure that contract deliverables are met at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The role requires working with the LPD management team to track and assess organizational performance, manage risk, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Our diverse capabilities span a broad spectrum of scientific and engineering disciplines, enabling the Laboratory to explore fundamental science challenges and to carry out the research needed to accelerate the delivery of solutions to the marketplace.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute relevant DOE orders, guides and technical standards to meet ORNL contract deliverables.

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate LPD performance data using analytical tools to assess the health of the organization.

  • Collaborate with LPD management to implement and maintain reporting tools that track and measure LPD performance.

  • Assist management in identifying operational risks and concerns, providing support for mitigation and resolution strategies.

  • Work with staff to develop, execute and report on LPD performance management deliverables.

  • Provide input, recommendations, and feedback to improve organizational processes, systems, and structures.

  • Support the completion of assessments, causal analyses, and performance trend reports, ensuring rigor is applied to identified risks.

  • Ensure the timely completion of assessments, casual and extent of condition analyses, effectiveness evaluations, and reports related to oversight processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A BS degree is required, preferably in a technical discipline.

  • A minimum of eight years of quality assurance experience in a highly regulated environment, including at least one year of experience with Safeguards and Security or Emergency Management programs. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with DOE orders related to Safeguards and Security and Emergency Management programs is highly desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience with strategic documentation and reporting.

  • A demonstrated track record of successful investigation, analysis, and problem-solving in a complex environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to quickly switch between tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong analytical skills, customer service experience, and the ability to interpret and implement complex instructions.

Special Requirements:

  • Q or L clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.

  • Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
