• Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care and urology.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse.
• Responsible in performing as a primary scrub while applying principles of sterile technique.
• Demonstrates accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments.
• Prepare the operating room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Assembles the sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, medications and solutions needed for the procedure in an organized manner.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization and reports any mechanical difficulties as needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of decontamination, washing, assembling, wrapping, and sterilizing instruments.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• Basic Life Support certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 1 year of Surgical Tech experience
