Senior Mechanical Engineering Group Leader

We're looking for a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineering Group Leader who thrives on solving complex technical challenges while leading and mentoring high-performing teams. What You'll Do:

As a key technical leader, you'll take charge of mechanical engineering efforts across innovative product development programs. You'll guide a talented group of engineers from concept through commercialization, with a strong focus on design excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering breakthrough solutions.




  • Lead and grow a team of mechanical engineers working on large, complex electromechanical systems



  • Drive the design and development of motion systems, thermal management solutions, and precision fluidics



  • Oversee CAD design and modeling, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DfX implementation



  • Ensure design quality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle



  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, and software engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions



  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, shaping their technical growth and professional development



  • Organize team workflows, set clear goals, and hold team members accountable for key deliverables



  • Ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory standards, particularly in the medical device space



  • Support project planning, risk analysis, budgeting, and stakeholder communication




Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 15+ years of product development experience

    OR

    BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience



  • Expert-level experience with parametric CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)



  • Proficiency in GD&T and complex tolerance stack-up analysis



  • Strong background designing electromechanical systems, including motion control, thermal systems, and precision fluidics



  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes: machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting



  • Proven leadership and mentorship skills, particularly in applying DfX principles



  • Familiarity with medical device regulations and quality systems



  • Exceptional communication and team collaboration abilities



  • Demonstrated experience managing, motivating, and developing engineering teams



  • Strategic thinking and strong organizational skills to guide complex projects to completion




Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with IVD medical device development



  • Effective cross-functional leadership and stakeholder alignment



  • Skilled in building technical networks and connecting talent with expertise



  • Ability to lead teams through entire product lifecycles-from concept through launch



  • Project management experience, including risk assessment, budgeting, and executive reporting
