The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

We are looking for a Command & Control Systems Director (Systems Director - Engineering Program Management) for Electronic Programs Division, Directorate H to lead the Command and Control Division (CCD) staff and help coordinate engineering/technical reach-back resources in support of two NRO SIGINT programs. You will provide leadership, planning and direction of activities related to C2 and operations. This is a very dynamic time for the organization where Aerospace has the opportunity to influence decisions for future constellations, while simultaneously working integration, test and fielding challenges on current acquisitions.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, Virginia which requires 100% onsite work.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading Directorate H staff and Engineering Technology Group (ETG) engineers ensuring delivery of timely, high quality Aerospace products.
  • Overseeing the execution of approximately 10 PTS, prioritizing resolution of the hardest problems and leveraging Aerospace's differentiating capabilities for the benefit of the program.
  • Establishing strategic partnerships with ETG, including the development of technical bench strength, and advocating for technical resources as needed.
  • Assisting the Principal Director and Assistant Principal Director on program level administrative matters including, organizational structure, staff and resource needs, PTS planning and estimates of Other Direct Costs.
  • Direct involvement in the development of assessments to communicate program risks to customers and higher-level management.
  • Coordinating weekly communications with senior customer leadership to provide awareness and status of Aerospace's key activities.
  • Collaborating across Aerospace's back-plane to bring enterprise perspectives to bear during resolution of program challenges.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Systems Director - Engineering Program Management

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering, mathematics, or science field.
  • 10 or more years of applicable professional experience including team leadership.
  • Strong technical expertise in ground and C2 systems
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of contractors, customers, and corporate staff.
  • Proven ability to identify and prioritize high impact activities, propose action plans and execute within relevant program timelines.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to effectively influence senior leaders.
  • Ability to solve complex multi-disciplinary challenges by leveraging teams with diverse skill sets.
  • Willing to support occasional domestic and international travel.
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
