Distribution Channel Sales Manager

Job Description:

Location & Travel Requirements: This is a field-based role supporting mining and drilling operations across the United States. Requires up to 70% travel to customer sites, trade events, and Boart Longyear locations.

Job Overview

The Distribution Channel Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the development and management of the distributor network for our mining products. This role focuses on building strong partnerships, delivering product training, executing marketing strategies, and achieving sales targets across assigned regions. The manager acts as a liaison between the company and its distributors, ensuring alignment on business goals and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities



  1. Distributor Relationship Management



  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors and channel partners.
  • Regularly engage distributors through meetings, joint sales calls, and strategic planning sessions.



  1. Sales Strategy & Execution



  • Define and execute territory sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Identify growth opportunities within distributor accounts and lead commercial negotiations.



  1. Channel Development & Support



  • Recruit and onboard new distributors where needed to expand market reach.
  • Provide tools, training, and ongoing support to help distributors succeed.



  1. Marketing & Promotions



  • Collaborate with the marketing team to roll out campaigns, product launches, and promotional initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all distributor touchpoints.



  1. Performance Analysis & Reporting



  • Track distributor performance using CRM and sales reporting tools.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Present findings to leadership.



  1. Customer Engagement & Market Intelligence



  • Visit key end customers with distributors to understand needs and drive demand.
  • Gather market intelligence and competitor activity to inform business strategy.



  1. Compliance & Brand Representation



  • Ensure distributors represent the brand in accordance with company values and standards.
  • Support compliance with applicable commercial and regulatory requirements.



  1. All Other Reasonable Duties as Assigned


Key Skills & Competencies



  1. Channel Sales Management: Proven ability to manage and grow a network of distributors.
  2. Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with external partners.
  3. Commercial Acumen: Skilled in pricing, contract negotiations, and sales forecasting.
  4. Marketing Execution: Experience in coordinating marketing efforts with channel partners.
  5. Communication: Effective presenter and communicator, able to represent the brand professionally.
  6. Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret sales data, track KPIs, and draw actionable insights.
  7. Travel Flexibility: Comfortable with regular regional travel to support distributors.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in sales or channel management, preferably in Mining or Aggregate / Construction products. Experience working with distributors or indirect sales channels.

Languages: English required; additional languages a plus depending on region.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

Work Environment: Office-based with regular field travel to customer and distributor locations.

Lifting Requirements: Minimal; occasional trade show setup or product demos up to 25 lbs.
