Your Role With Us:

As a Medical Staff Coordinator at Salem Health, your role would be essential in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the credentialing and privileging processes for medical staff. You would oversee all aspects of credentialing, from initial appointments and reappointments to provisional and temporary privileges, ensuring all documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with regulatory standards. With a focus on precision and timeliness, you'd collect, analyze, and prepare credentialing files for review, while also embracing automation to streamline department workflows. In a leadership capacity, you'd support Salem Health's strategic vision by assisting in the orientation of new providers and offering expert guidance to Medical Staff Leadership, including the accurate documentation of meeting minutes in accordance with Joint Commission standards. You would play a critical role in regulatory preparedness, aiding in the planning and continuous improvement of processes to meet the requirements of The Joint Commission, NCQA, and other oversight bodies. Additionally, your leadership would extend to stepping in for the Manager of Medical Staff Services as needed, ensuring consistent oversight and continuity in operations.

    Background/Expertise:

    • Associates Degree- Four (4) years experience in a health care or administrative support setting may be considered equivalent Required
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a medical related setting preferred
    • Must have or be able to gain considerable knowledge of medical staff services principles and possess the ability to develop and implement methods and procedures for improving and facilitating credentialing processes utilizing automation.
    • Must have cooperative working, leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal tactfully and courteously with others, while upholding the organization's principles of quality and patient safety.
