Position Description
Position Summary: The Principal Clinical Specialist plays a critical role in integrating ACIST technology into Cardiac Cath Labs, Hybrid Operating Rooms (ORs), and Interventional Radiology (IR) Labs within new and existing accounts in an assigned region. Serving as the subject matter expert for the Angiography business, this role provides advanced clinical expertise and strategic support to drive adoption and utilization of ACIST products. This is a hybrid position, with responsibilities split between 50% regional focus and 50% national focus.
- National Focus: Supports the overall growth of the U.S. Angiography business through strategic, technical, and educational initiatives. This includes collaboration with Sales, Training, Marketing, and R&D teams to enhance market penetration and clinical adoption.
- Regional Focus: Provides comprehensive clinical field support across all ACIST product platforms, including Angiography, Imaging, and Physiology, with a direct focus on regional customer engagement and success.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of ACIST technology, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to influence both clinical and commercial outcomes in a dynamic healthcare environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Sales Support
- Responsible for generating quality leads through demonstrated clinical expertise while promoting the ACIST portfolio and value proposition
- Provide procedural support with Interventional Cardiologists, Interventional Radiologist, and Vascular/Cardiothoracic Surgeons, and other staff during product adoption visits to ensure proper and optimal use of ACIST equipment/devices
- Identify training needs within each assigned account and execute necessary activities
- Identify non adopters in assigned accounts and employ a consultative selling strategy to convert them into adopters including consulting and collaborating with customer to uncover their specific needs and identify working solutions
- Develop and execute strategies in conjunction with Territory Sales Manager (TSM) to drive consumable utilization that aligns with sales projections
- Develop relationships with multiple call points during product adoption visits E.g. Physician, Management, Tech, RN, education, Bio-Med etc.
- Ensure all product issues or concerns are properly addressed to ensure long term customer satisfaction
- Develop and cultivate customer relationships with key accounts resulting in incremental business
- Collaborate with Marketing to identify and develop KOL strategic partners for Angiography platform, including support at ACIST sponsored national and regional conferences
- Maintain thorough record of all activities in customer relationship management system (Salesforce.com)
- Maintain accurate customer profile focused on utilization of ACIST equipment/devices
Installation and Training
- Provide installation of the company's medical equipment within assigned territory and as a team member in key account installations. Includes but is not limited to site & staff assessment, system unpack, test, set up, integration with OEM equipment, coordination, execution and documentation of training for all staff
- Present features and benefits to customers, educate /train customers on proper usage of the equipment/device, document proficiency and establish follow up plan to maintain customer satisfaction
- Working side by side with the Interventional Cardiologist, Interventional Radiologist, and Vascular/Cardiothoracic Surgeons and other Lab staff the CS executes a comprehensive training plan to ensure proficiency and safety in the use of ACIST devices
- Ensure all staff are utilizing the ACIST device with the proper technique and with utmost regard for patient safety
- Collaborate with Territory Sales Manager to ensure maximum integration of technology in new accounts
- Partner with Training and Management on Clinical Specialist/TSM activities including knowledge/performance standards, training plans, and implementation of product specific training initiatives
- Attend National and Regional training opportunities to facilitate the education and competency of new employees on Angiography platform
- Collaborate and communicate with the Marketing and Training team to develop tools and training relevant to Angiography platform
- Maintain records of all installation details in customer relationship management system
Customer Support
- Address on-going customer needs through cross-functional communication and collaboration. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Proactive communications with engineering on product requirements
- Communicates with Service for deployment of service-related activities
- Communicates "voice of customer" feedback to Marketing
- Frequent communications with Sales Administration to secure accessories and manage logistics
- Collaborate and strategize with US sales team to support customer evaluations, training, and troubleshooting in key accounts for Angiography strategy
Clinical Support and Expertise
- In conjunction with Territory Sales Manager, provide case and clinical support during product evaluations and demonstrations to prospective customers
- Demonstrate technical leadership by partnering with R&D, Marketing and Quality to provide field feedback, product ideas, performance, and competitive position
- Proactively communicate challenges and necessary product improvements to Marketing Product Manager and Engineering team
- Keep current on all product literature, promotional material and industry developments
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Minimum:
- RCIS, RN, RT or related health care license
- 8+ years of clinical experience in interventional cardiology with expertise in Angiography or thorough knowledge of current interventional practices and procedures
- Ability to conduct high impact presentations during training and customer presentations
- Proven ability to demonstrate strong persuasive, objection handling and problem-solving skills in high pressure situations
- Proven ability to demonstrate team contributor competencies: Action Oriented, Perseverance, Learning on the fly and attention to detail
- Knowledge of computer applications including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment consistent with organizational and department guidelines
Preferred:
- 10+ years of clinical experience in a laboratory that utilizes the ACIST contrast management system
- 5+ years of Clinical Specialist experience at ACIST
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads through clinical expertise, promoting the ACIST portfolio and value proposition
- Demonstrates clinical credibility by exceptional pull through and effective onboarding of accounts via successful demos, evals, installs and training, contributing to overall business growth
- History of Superior clinical outcomes on ACIST economic and value campaigns sharing feedback and success strategies with US teams
- Viewed as a subject expert in Cath Lab curriculum, interventional practices and procedures, and all ACIST products; Utilizes designated sales methodology to create value and grow the business
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain long term relationships with all levels within the Cath Lab; knowledgeable on key stakeholders beyond cath lab
- Demonstrated willingness to travel 70% +, with a willingness to assist regional and national accounts in efforts to support business strategies
- Proficient in delivery of in-services and product messaging that is aligned with in-service guides
- Collaborates effectively with Territory Sales Managers contributing to the business planning process
- Keeps abreast of current scientific literature and is fluent in referencing clinical studies to support ACIST claims and address questions
- Bachelor's degree

- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel a minimum of 70-80% of the time
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings with a satisfactory result in accordance with the requirements of the customer/medical facility serviced
