Job Summary The Pediatric OHNS and Audiology Service Line Manager has the overall responsibility for overseeing the management of service line activities. Responsibilities encompass the overall management of the service line including business development, personnel management, financial management, and long-term strategic planning. They collaborate closely with partners across UCSF Health and the Benioff Children's Hospitals leadership to ensure the overall success of the service line.
The Service Line Manager actively participates in developing the OHNS and Audiology strategic plan and implements strategic initiatives focused on improving the profitability, market share, and quality of care for the service line. Key responsibilities involve planning, directing, and managing all non-clinical aspects of the service line, such as the growth of TQ programming, quality and safety improvement, optimizing operations, and improving the cross-continuum patient experience. The Manager will work closely with the Division Chiefs, Department Chairs, Medical Administrators, and Senior leadership at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals to implement all service-related goals.
The Pediatric OHNS and Audiology Service Line Manager extends their leadership and oversight to encompass local and regional outreach efforts collaborating with OHNS and Audiology Faculty Administrators, Medical Administrators, and Clinical leadership. They contribute to comprehensive strategic plans, establish priorities, and articulate a shared vision for Pediatric OHNS and Audiology. The Administrator is accountable for the execution of short- and long-term goals with appropriate stakeholders at all levels throughout the organization.
In addition to administrative responsibilities the service line Administrator actively promotes optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and partnership with physician and nursing leaders.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $225,000 (Annual Rate). Department Description Benioff Children's Hospital is a complex pediatric academic medical system with 379 beds, a member of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Health System. We are one of the top Children's Hospital Systems on the west coast, which is consistently ranked in several specialties within the U.S. New and World Report. UCSF is nationally recognized as one of the Top 5 National Institute of Health-funded research centers in the country. UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Medical staff of 928 and hospital staff of over 5,100 FTEs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, health administration or clinical degree and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Minimum three (3) years of related experience including leadership and/or program management
- Management experience in a complex healthcare organization. Demonstrated human resources knowledge
- Knowledge of health care delivery models, program planning, and implementation.
- Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient care workflows and operational processes.
- Demonstrated financial management skills, including budget management, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain professional relationships, influence and persuade.
- Ability to build and maintain a climate of trust and collaboration.
- Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business, health administration, or clinical degree
- Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues
- Ability to develop long-range business plans and strategy
