Tempel, a Worthington Steel company, is seeking a Manual Machinist - Lathes & Mills to join our team. This role is ideal for skilled professionals with hands-on experience operating manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses. The Manual Machinist will be responsible for producing and assembling precision parts, adhering to high standards of quality and on-time delivery. We are looking for an organized self-starter who takes pride in their craft and is committed to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Operate manual machines including lathes, Bridgeport-type mills, grinders, and drill presses Perform fit-ups and basic assembly of machined parts Interpret and work from blueprints, micrometers, dial indicators, and vernier calipers Execute precise measurements and calculations using basic math skills Sharpen tools and maintain equipment to ensure operational readiness Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor Preferred Qualifications Proven experience as a manual machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and machining tolerances Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Safety-conscious attitude with willingness to follow LOTO, PPE, fall protection, and confined space procedures 1st Shift - Monday through Friday 6am - 2pm.
