Description
Electrical Engineer III - Tulsa, OK (20-40% Travel Required) We're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our team at our Tulsa, OK headquarters. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical power systems across new construction and ongoing operations. You'll lead cross-functional projects, support field locations, and ensure systems meet high reliability and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and integrate high, medium, and low voltage power systems into overall project plans.
- Lead engineering projects from planning to completion, including budgeting, contractor oversight, and post-project reviews.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
- Support reliability-centered maintenance and condition monitoring initiatives.
- Analyze and update protective relay settings and maintain system documentation.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings and coordinate with contractors and agencies.
- Provide engineering guidance and on-site support for construction teams.
- Review third-party plans that could affect existing electrical systems.
- Prepare technical studies, cost estimates, and operational improvement proposals.
- Assist with internal and regulatory audits.
- Develop budgets for maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Create technical drawings, process maps, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in electrical/power system design within the pipeline or similar industrial sectors.
- Certifications (preferred): PE, PMP, CRL/CMRP; must obtain PdMA analyst certification, Thermography Level I, and CMM within one year of hire.
Skills & Abilities
- Expert in high-voltage systems design, analysis, and integration.
- Proficient with engineering tools: SKM Power Systems, GE Multilin, SEL Relay Software.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and technical instrumentation.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (API, NEMA, NFPA).
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external contractors.
