Job Purpose
Perform routine and complex repairs, preventive maintenance, and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment with minimal supervision and in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to site operations.

$32.50 hr



Core Responsibilities


  • Install, program, inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related information systems.



  • Perform tests and maintenance on equipment; interpret readings and outputs to ensure proper functioning.



  • Review manuals and guidelines to ensure compliant operation of equipment and systems.



  • Perform basic programming of utilities systems using ladder logic and relay logic; operate PLCs, RTUs, and associated I/Os and VFDs.



  • Ensure proper operation of the SCADA system, identifying and troubleshooting issues.



  • Conduct preventive maintenance and advanced troubleshooting/repairs of production and facility equipment; proactively resolve recurring issues.



  • Perform electrical or mechanical installation, repair, and troubleshooting of motors, instrumentation, and controls.



  • Identify deviations and document/communicate them in line with Standard Operating Procedures.



  • Monitor contractors on small-scale maintenance projects.



  • Work in compliance with requirements including ATEX, GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and internal safety protocols.



  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards.



  • Perform administrative tasks including creating and closing work requests using the maintenance management system (SAP).



  • Support the Maintenance Lead or Supervisor in delivering technical training and following up on work orders.



  • Perform other tasks as assigned.




Education & Certifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by college-level coursework in electronics or a related field.



  • Certifications required: Forklift operation and at least one of the following - pipefitting, welding, or hydraulics.




Professional Experience


  • 7 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations (experience in matrixed organizations preferred).



  • Up to 1 year of experience in team leadership or supervisory tasks is desirable.




Technical Skills & Competencies


  • Able to independently carry out complex installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems.



  • Capable of modifying, designing, and installing temporary or control circuits.



  • Skilled in maintaining low-voltage electrical equipment, including transformers, power panels, lighting, and disconnect switches.



  • Proficient in the repair and maintenance of field and shop-based instrumentation systems.



  • Experienced with electrical control systems and instrumentation, including PLCs, telemetry, telecommunications, hydraulics, and pneumatics.



  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English for documentation purposes.



  • Knowledgeable in EHS regulations, SAP, and Excel.



  • Strong mathematical aptitude for mechanical and electrical calculations.



  • Competent in plasma and oxy-acetylene cutting, motor troubleshooting, conduit work, welding, and parts fabrication.



  • Experience evaluating and testing equipment, managing work orders, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.



  • Skilled in the safe use of tools and equipment for mechanical and electrical tasks.



  • Good drawing and documentation skills to support machine/process updates and instructions.
