Position Summary:

The Level 2 Electrical Assembly Technician possesses foundational knowledge and experience in the electrical field, typically with 1-2 years of hands-on work. While experience may be limited to residential electrical wiring, the technician demonstrates a strong desire to learn and expand their skills, particularly in control wiring and industrial systems. Training and guidance will be provided to enhance capabilities. The technician must be able to comprehend tasks and retain information to support continuous development.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform tasks in compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 9001) and internal policies.
  • Fabricate entire back panels and enclosures, including wiring of control panels and enclosure doors.
  • Identify and install various hardware components within a control system.
  • Detect and report wiring or drawing discrepancies to engineering for correction.
  • Interpret and work from mechanical and electrical drawings with minimal assistance.
  • Identify wire gauges, ampacities, and proper applications.
  • Confidently use all hand tools and power tools commonly found in fabrication and assembly environments.
  • Distinguish between stainless steel and painted steel materials and apply appropriate tools and techniques for each.
  • Apply wire labels and device tags accurately and consistently.
  • Use all FAB shop power tools safely and effectively.
  • Accurately read both metric and standard tape measures and other measuring devices.
  • Recognize and interpret wire colors and markings for accurate connections and terminations.


Qualifications:



  • 1-2 years of experience in the electrical field, preferably including exposure to control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Understanding of wire gauges, colors, and ampacities.
  • Strong skills in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Proficiency in installing wire labels, device tags, and identifying system components.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and ongoing learning.
