As the Head, Record to Report (R2R) for Sandoz US, you will work with the Head of Financial Reporting & Accounting (FRA) and other leaders within the organization to implement the in-country FRA Operations vision and strategy by ensuring alignment with the leadership team and stakeholders, driving strong execution of the projects and ensuring strong change management throughout FRA Operations team. Key to this role is the complex stakeholder management.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership and Management
- Role models a leadership style, which is inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven
- Manages a diverse team (on/ offshore) to deliver a high-performing organization and drive improvements/standard solutions, while driving a high degree of collaboration. This role will oversee a team of 4 direct reports.

- Provides leadership, training and development to ensure unified teamwork and alignment with Sandoz Values and Behaviors
- Provide input to the development of the organization's strategies & plans and drive discipline in executing regional / global strategies for own part of the organization
- Onboards and trains new team members to the team in a welcoming and efficient manner ensuring that they have required resources and knowledge to perform role effectively
Service Delivery
- Support the vision and strategy of FRA Operations to plan and implement all aspects of operational changes necessary to meet all Sandoz Group and finance service levels, achieving a balance between speed of implementation and risk of disruption to services
- Lead the implementation of risk management processes (e.g. early identification of potential impairment issues or P&L impact of changes in accounting standards) and ensure existence and use of adequate risk management tools
- Oversee compliance of daily accounting procedures, develop and support standardized reporting processes and present focused analysis of financial information (monthly, quarterly and annual data) in accordance with business
- needs and in compliance with IFRS and Sandoz Accounting Manual
- Lead month end close activities including the analysis, review, and validation of financial statements, to include conducting cross-function analysis meetings with key stakeholders to review financial performance, KPIs and balance sheet details
- Support Gross to Net accounting: up to $1Bn of Balance Sheet reserves
- Support to Product Cost accounting team and reporting in Sandoz Product Margin Reporting tool
- Support Statutory vs Management accounting and contribute to the forecast
- Support Cash forecasting, tax planning and transfer pricing activities
- Assist Business Development team in contract reviews and partner interactions
- Define, implement and operationalize accounting and reporting processes for acquisitions and divestments
- Review and periodically approve the reasonableness of accrual estimates by People & Organization team (P&O) including but not limited to Defined Contribution Retirement Plan, Annual Incentive Plan, Pensions, Other Post-retirement Obligations, Post-retiree medical, and Medical Pooling
- Review and assess changes to employee benefit plans for potential financial statement impacts
- Develop and execute a communication plan internally within FRA Operations and externally to internal stakeholders that ensures the proper awareness of performance, initiatives, etc.
- Be a Change Agent within FRA Operations, constantly leading best practice sharing, process improvements and developing the team's profile, skills and talent; Lead change management activity and drive forward project initiatives; Influence stakeholders to gain buy-in.
Compliance
- Direct the development, review and approval of comprehensive Financial, Reporting and Accounting processes, standards and policies (i.e.: Sandoz Financial Control Framework (SFCF)) and ensure adherence / compliance thereof
- Support local Controls & Compliance associates for R2R controls
- Oversee the preparation and communication related to external and internal auditors' meetings in order to ensure a smooth and efficient relationship; Lead US audit process.
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Experience:
- 10+ years of financial experience for major company or division of a large corporation
- Experience managing a team of direct reports
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills and communication skills
- Effective Communication of Complex Models and Scenarios; Strong process design experience with demonstrated ability to organize high volume and complexity of activities into streamlined process
- Expertise in financial reporting and consolidation systems and strong Excel skills
- Leadership exposure and experience with Global shared services teams
- Compliant Financial and Technical Accounting; good knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP

Preferred Qualifications:
- Big 4 Audit and life science background
- CPA, Chartered Accountant, Advanced Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Familiarity with SAP ERP, SAP BI/BW
This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Preference will be given to local candidates not requiring relocation.
Our Sandoz flexible-hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workdays remotely.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $145,600 and $270,400/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
