972 GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direction of Manager, Product Development, perform and execute routine activities to support the department. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION: * Perform routine analysis by conventional and instrumental techniques with minimal assistance (i.e. shelf-life studies)
* Prepare samples to support customer presentations and meetings
* Provide support to Food Technologists and others in the R&D department as required within the lab and during plant trials
* Maintains laboratory records in a complete, consistent and concise manner in accordance with company intellectual property policies and practices. Follow daily work assignments with other co-workers, to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
* Responsible for safe working practices in the laboratory, plant, and field
* Follow all Food Safety Requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices as applicable to this position.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: * Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Ability to work well in teams
* Demonstrated technical aptitude and a strong work ethic
* Able to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
* Familiarity terminology and equipment used in a laboratory facility
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
* The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) up to 25 lbs. WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts as business needs require
* Ability to travel up to 10% required Required Experience
