Position Purpose

This position works in the Emergency Services Department under the direction of the department chair and in conjunction with the program coordinator of EMS. The clinical coordinator is responsible for the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development and effectiveness of the clinical and field experiences of the Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic and all future programs associated with the EMS field of study. The individual in this position also serves as full-time faculty for the EMS programs.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining affiliation contracts with clinical/field sites.
  • Traveling to clinical/field sites on a regular basis as scheduled.
  • Maintaining and approving all clinical schedules.
  • Orienting students and clinical/field sites in the use of clinical scheduling software.
  • Tracking and evaluating student performance and progress through clinical scheduling software.
  • Preparing reports as required by the department chair and EMS program coordinator.
  • Employing appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students.

To Be Considered You Need:

  • A minimum of an associate's degree in a directly related field from a nationally recognized accrediting institution.
  • An Ohio Department of Public Safety Paramedic Certification.
  • A current Ohio Department of Public Safety Fire and Emergency Medical Services II Certification.
  • To be able to maintain currency of required certifications.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services.
  • To be available days, evenings, and weekends to implement requirements of classes and training as necessary.
  • The ability to travel to clinical/field sites on a regular basis or as scheduled.
  • The ability to maintain a valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in the State of Ohio.
