General Summary:

Ritter Communications has a 10 to 12-week paid internship position available in our Finance department. This internship provides candidates the opportunity to work in a corporate office setting in which the candidate will interact with the different team members in the Finance department and gain exposure to the daily operations and month-end closing practices. The ideal candidate is actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, demonstrates strong motivation, and exhibits both a willingness and eagerness to learn.

What You'll Do:



  • Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing various financial reports in a timely manner.
  • Ability and eagerness to learn to understand the financial performance of the business, identifying opportunities and concerns, and collaborate with team members to develop solutions for improving financial performance.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly metric reports, including capital spending reports and key operational measurement reports.
  • Monitor and report on monthly actual results against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance, providing variance explanations in a clear presentation format.
  • Assist in drafting budget/forecast presentations and communicating period results.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required by the business.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong comprehension of technical documents and information.
  • Proficiency in operating office equipment, including personal computers and various accounting/financial software programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze statistical and financial data.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work with a strong focus on quality assurance.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong note-taking skills with the ability to accurately document key information and action items.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong confidentiality and ethical judgment in handling sensitive financial information with discretion.
  • Understanding of company policies and procedures.


What You'll Bring to The Table:



  • Individual should have 90 hours of college credit toward a Finance or Accounting Degree.
  • Assignment is for 10 - 12 weeks averaging approximately 15-20 hours a week.
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 is preferable.
