Job Summary: The Biostatistician provides research and evaluation services for LLUH. Under supervision of senior quantitative research personnel, plays a major role in supporting quantitative research projects for the Graduate Medical Education or Sponsored Research (i.e. study design, analytics, protocols that maintains and expands the portfolio of currently funded projects at LLUH. Works under the guidance of doctoral level biostatisticians and epidemiologists. Participates in billing, budget, and use/maintenance of client management software. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in biostatistics/epidemiology, statistics, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum one year of statistical programming experience in at least one of the following programs: SAS, R, Stata, or SPSS. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of experimental design, data visualization, power-analysis, data modeling and statistical reporting at the level of a bachelor's or master's level health data analyst. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and skill in setting priorities to meet rigorous deadlines and adapting to changes. Read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
