JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Vice President for Strategic Intelligence and Advanced Analytics will oversee the development of the enterprise strategy and growth analytics. This person will be responsible for strategic intelligence, strategic performance, and advanced analytics, including machine learning and artificial intelligence. This role synthesizes complex data to generate transformative insights, identify emerging trends, and optimize strategic initiatives that strengthen the Health System's competitive positioning and long-term growth. It also drives the continuous evolution of analytical frameworks and modeling efforts, refining methodologies to enhance predictive capabilities, improve decision-making, and unlock new opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, computer science, or related field
  • Experience

  • 5 years of related leadership experience within healthcare strategy or growth analytics functions

    Strong analytical and communication skills

    Familiarity with data analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven insights
Preferred
  • Education

  • MBA/MHA or related advanced degree
  • Experience

  • 7 years of related leadership experience

    Experience with advanced analytics, including predictive modeling

    Proficiency with Python and SQL; familiarity with BI and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

    Understanding of key analytics and ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, Matplotlib, Pandas, etc.)

    Experience with cloud-based analytics and big data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake)

JOB DUTIES
  • Lead initiatives to consolidate and integrate various internal and external strategic data assets ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and usability across the health system to support enterprise-wide decision-making.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of healthcare data to drive strategic insights and performance improvements.
  • Develop and leverage analytic models to assess the value of services, competitive positioning, and alignment with organizational goals and market dynamics.
  • Create models that leverage publicly available data to understand the external market.
  • Develop in-depth analytics at the service line level to evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Synthesize data to develop insights informing service line development and enhancement strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists by fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic intelligence framework in support of UT Southwesterns clinical destination that consistently provides forward-looking strategic intelligence used to inform and guide decision-making.
  • Oversee the design and execution of advanced analytics projects, including predictive modeling, machine learning applications, and data visualization initiatives that provide actionable insights.
  • Develop an analytical approach that supports UT Southwesterns positioning in the market for pediatrics and adults.
  • Provide leadership in the development of self-service tools for users that maximize their ability to use the system capabilities.
  • Lead the development and execution of the Strategic Analytics function to support strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the building of growth analytics data and reporting infrastructure to include market planning, market share, demographics, and other growth-related content.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with enterprise vendors on the acquisition, analysis, and presentation of applicable data assets related to strategy, growth, and the integration of these assets into analytic tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
