Responsibilities

The Second Shift Supervisor will direct, mentor, and manage machine shop personnel. He/she will plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities to meet manufacturing targets for RF transmitters assemblies. This role is an exempt status reporting to the Senior Production Manager. Second shift work hours are Mon-Thurs from 2:30pm to 1:00am (four 10-hour days).

  • Direct, mentor, and manage machine shop personnel
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing training, and address any staffing issues or conflicts
  • Optimize workflow, resource allocation, and ensure timely completion of production goals
  • Ensure products meet CECs stringent quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and address any quality issues promptly
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations
  • Conduct safety audits, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of safety within the shop
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement best practices
  • Monitor equipment and tool wear, and request external maintenance when required

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant
  • Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a machine shop environment with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in the manufacturing of RF transmitters is highly desirable.
  • Read technical drawings
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Expertise in machining processes, equipment, and tooling
  • In-depth knowledge of best manufacturing practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing environment
  • Must be a "US Person" by government definition, per our government contracts
