Name of Employer: The Options Clearing Corporation Job Title: Associate Principal, Software Engineering Location: 9111 Cypress Waters Blvd., Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75019 Duties: Provide subject matter expertise for implementation and ongoing support of Kafka Administration and Hashicorp Vault in production and non-production environments. Use subject matter expertise with products to advise on design and assist with development of applications using these tools. Configure production, development and testing environments and ensure the availability of these application services. Install, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters on research and production servers using Rancher or OpenShift container HELM deployments. Install and configure Kafka zookeepers, Kafka connect, and Kafka schema registry in OpenShift platform or Kubernetes platform in AWS cloud. Create topics, set up redundancy cluster, and deploy monitoring tools and alerts using Ansible or Terraform. Build and create the dashboards for application monitoring using tools like Prometheus and Grafana or Splunk Observability. Install, configure and maintain 3rd party software components classified as middleware on multiple operating system platforms. Resolve configuration related problems. Resolve complex support issues in both production and non-production environments. Assist production support and development staff in debugging Middleware application defects. Create procedural and troubleshooting documentation related to Middleware products. Properly secure middleware technologies. Advise on industry best practices as it relates to new product selection.
