Pricing Support Technician

What You'll Do

As a Pricing Support Technician for Sentry you will learn how to complete technical and analytical duties. You will assist in recommending rate level changes, analyze independent rate structures, and assist with data assembly. In addition you'll:

• Assist in data assembly and processing for insurance financials including trend analysis, loss and expense projections, examination of experience by segment, and special projects

• Use various data retrieval sources to obtain and analyze financial and operating data

• Create, prepare and distribute reports, charts, graphs, and other documents using a variety of personal computer and/or mainframe-based applications or software

• Maintain and prepare exhibits and actuarial reports related to pricing, valuation, and profitability and complete research of special projects to assist actuaries in the formulation of appropriate recommendations for further action

• Update department rating systems with rate and algorithm revisions accurately in accordance with state filings

What it Takes

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Math or Statistics or equivalent work experience

• 0-2 years of previous experience

• Previous analysis and research experience preferred

• A working knowledge of spreadsheet computer applications (Excel)

• Ability to work independently within deadlines and effectively manage workload in the face of competing priorities

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
