Job Overview: This is an entry-level position perfect for someone who's mechanically inclined and ready to work hard. Approximately 75-80% of the role involves general labor and shop support tasks, with the remaining time spent learning and assisting in CNC machining operations. You'll get hands-on experience in a real working shop while building valuable skills that lead to higher pay and career growth. Key Responsibilities for CNC Apprentice / Shop Hand: - Wash and clean machined parts - Polish and deburr metal parts to required finish standards - Perform general shop labor, including sweeping, organizing, and cleaning work areas - Assist with loading and unloading materials - Help with machine setup and cleanup under supervision - Cut stock materials to size as directed - Operate basic tools and shop equipment (training provided) - Maintain a safe and clean working environment - Support machinists with basic tasks and gradually learn CNC operations Qualifications for CNC Apprentice / Shop Hand: - High school diploma or GED - Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic - Interest in machining or manufacturing trades - Ability to follow directions and work well in a team - Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and standing for long periods - No CNC experience required - just a willingness to learn IND153 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
