Hydrologist Pay Grade: 615 Location: Central Office Vacancy Announcement Nature Of The Work Office Environment WC - 8810 Brief Description The purpose of this position is to oversee the daily water supply operations and provide complex hydrologic expertise in support of Brazos River Authority (BRA) activities and programs. This is accomplished by overseeing water availability, development, and utilization; managing BRA water supply contracts; developing and using water resources models; performing hydrologic analyses regarding rainfall, runoff, stream flow, reservoir inflow, reservoir releases, and sedimentation; monitoring state and federal regulations and water rights; coordinating with the Brazos Watermaster; implementing and operating under the BRA water management and accounting plans; coordinating with external agencies including the Corp of Engineers, United States Geological Survey, and the National Weather Service; providing technical support and analysis pertaining to planning, development, use and accounting for surface and groundwater resources; and performing flood management operations for BRA owned reservoirs; Other responsibilities include making presentations; preparing reports; representing the BRA as needed at meetings; interacting with other employees and the public; and any other duties as assigned.
