Business Continuity Manager Pay Grade: 617 Location: Central Office Vacancy Announcement Nature Of The Work Office Environment WC 8810 Brief Description The Business Continuity Manager is responsible for ensuring that critical operations, resources, and services continue uninterrupted during or after an emergency, disaster, or disruption. This is accomplished by developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive business continuity plans for the BRA, training BRA staff, and developing and performing drills and exercises with BRA Emergency Management staff. The position requires strategic thinking, risk assessment, and coordination across BRA departments to safeguard the BRA's mission-critical functions and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, or emergency management.
- Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, NIMS, NIST 800-34).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred:
- Certifications in business continuity or emergency management (e.g., CBCP, CBCI, MBCP, PMP, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of the Texas State Office of Risk Management Continuity of Operations Planning Program
- Experience with risk management tools, business continuity software, or disaster recovery platforms.
- Knowledge of the water management and environmental sector
- Bachelors Degree (in related field) - Completed course requirements to earn a Bachelor's degree in the field related to the position and is expected to utilize this level of education during the work day to the benefit of the organization.
